How do we ship our packages?

All our meat is shipped frozen and packaged within high-density polystyrene lined boxes to improve temperature control during transit. 

Which areas do you deliver to?

We deliver to all major cities across SA. If you live outside one of these areas, please email us direct to see if we can arrange a courier within an acceptable transit time before placing your order. Please read our delivery info page before ordering.

How long after payment until I receive my order?

All non-local orders (see delivery info) will be dispatched on the first Monday or Tuesday after payment and will take between 1 – 4 days (depending on where you live) from date of dispatch. Once dispatched, please engage direct with the Courier agent to track and hasten your order.

What breed of cattle do you farm?

We don’t focus on a specific breed, but instead choose to breed our own veld adapted cattle. This aides our ethos of minimum intervention with regards to vaccinations, parasite controls and feeding supplementation.

Why do you have a minimum order weight of 10kgs on couriered items?

We ship all our meat frozen, in adapted packaging which requires the meat itself to act as a freezing agent. Shipping smaller quantities significantly increases the risk of the meat thawing out during transit.

Delivery Locations

We deliver to all major cities countrywide using a selection of preferred courier companies. 

Packaging and Postage

We charge a flat rate specific to each major city based on the quantity and weight of the total order placed. All our meat is shipped frozen and packed within high density polystyrene adapted boxes to aid temperature control during transit. We insist on a minimum order weight of 10kgs for couriered items because this improves temperature control during delivery as the meat acts as a solid frozen mass improving temperature control during transit.

All our meat is freshly processed after having been dry aged in a temperature controlled environment for up to 14 days (Beef only).  Our meat is then freshly processed and frozen on the same day of processing to preserve shelf life.

Local Delivery

We offer FREE Delivery on all orders over R1000 in our local area which includes (Pietermaritzburg, Hilton, Nottingham Road, Rosetta, Howick and Balgowan).  Delivery dates are as follows:

  • PMB and Hilton - Mondays and Tuesdays
  • Natal Midlands - Thursday and Fridays

Courier Charges

We insist on a minimum order weight of 10kgs for couriered items because this improves temperature control during delivery as the meat acts as a solid frozen mass improving temperature control during transit.

Courier Charges:

  • Regular 10kg Orders: R200
  • Orders up to 25kgs: R260

*Orders above 25kgs will be charged at R200 per additional 10kgs.

Delivery Timelines

All orders which require a courier will be shipped on a Monday or Tuesday as delivery can take between 1 – 4 days. This avoids potential unnecessary delays over a weekend. You will receive a confirmation direct from our chosen courier company once your order has been loaded for dispatch. Please engage directly with the chosen Courier company once notified to track and hasten your order. Your tracking details will be notified to you directly from the Courier company on dispatch.
